SENSIO® Noise Reducer

SENSIO Noise Reducer is designed to efficiently remove many types of video noise, ranging from Discrete Cosine Transfer (DCT) artifacts to various types of random noise. This technology is, for example, effective in reducing block borders, mosquito noise, Gaussian noise and RF type noise on SD, HD and stereoscopic 3D signals, whether native L+R or images encoded in a frame-compatible stereoscopic 3D format.

In a stereo 3D environment, the SENSIO Noise Reducer can be applied at the source, either before transmission or ingest. It can also be used in a playback environment (or satellite downlinks), effectively removing noise created by the video compression on a frame-compatible stereo 3D-encoded signal. The noise reduction is carried out on the frame-compatible image before it is sent to the display or decoded into separate L+R images.

The SENSIO Noise Reducer is comprised of four major elements for processing different types of noise:

  • MNR: Mosquito Noise Reducer
  • DNR: Dynamic Noise Reducer
  • BAR: Block Artifact Reducer
  • 3D : 3D Temporal Filter
